Also in that year besides several other Burns events, Homecoming Scotland celebrated our Culture, Scottish Inventions, Heritage, Whisky and Golf.

In 1746 a two handled quaich made from silver was presented as a gift to Flora MacDonald. The design on the lugs mimicked the staves of a wood bowl. The inside of the bowl was inscribed "Given by Prince Charles Stewart to Flora MacDonald in 1746. The National Museum of Scotland has a picture of the quaich on their site.
